Piccolo Paradiso di Relax

Zenucchi - Bergamo

The image is that of a postcard depicting an entrenched landscape surrounded by a picture frame. As a matter of fact, it is a window overlooking a wide terrace where you can enjoy the skyline of northern Bergamo. An outdoor room designed by Architect Giorgio Donati in collaboration with Zenucchi Arredamento. A fruitful partnership which has succeeded in giving this place, which is not easy to work with, a feeling of peace and relaxation. The choice of furniture colours turning to shades of dove grey, which match the floor, lend this huge space a sense of harmony and intimacy. In reality this was a terrace with considerable potential but, simply because of its substantial size, it was difficult to work with and furnish. The clients’ wish was to create a number of small functional ‘islands’ for different purposes, each communicating with another, but not located too close. The risk was to fill the whole space while nevertheless failing to achieve the goal. The architectural and furnishing designs manage to combine taste and refinement to yield an excellent result. Roda furnishings created a space devoted to conversation and, next to it, the banquet area. Royal Botania beds are used to furnish the dedicated solarium area. The two environments are virtually separated by the swimming pool and surrounded by a rhythmic juxtaposition of vases from Belgium. These are entirely handmade of clay, coloured with natural oxides and feature light and airy trees. Maple trees and graminaceous plants having a lithe bearing decorate the space and create a subtle barrier with the external space. Today, the terrace is a cosy little piece of relaxation paradise you can pleasantly enjoy, both during hot afternoons and on summer evenings when the city lights fade and give way to the magic of the stars. A various range of vases and bowls are displayed on the terrace: U and A shapes are combined with pebbles and round SR plates.
