Located in the residential and green district of of Changning in Shanghai, Jisifang is a silk boutique that elegantly distinguishes itself from the neighboring shopping malls, thus accounting for a unique locus amoenus. The choice of Changning district as the location for the shop is strictly linked to the story of this urban area, which used to be an industrial district in the past decades and have been subjected to many renovations and requalifications, thus becoming a charming, ever-changing location. There, OE and DC series vases are planted with two different species of green and tender species of Muehlenbeckia. Their slender and graceful branches are meant to grow and become longer, thus covering and embracing the shapes of the vases and creating a relaxed natural area. The horizontal pattern of the building, formerly used as an industrial facility, is harmonized by the rounded shapes and by the different dimensions of the vases, matched elegantly in different shades and textures with an apparent yet well-thought randomness.
